Surface preparation Finish sanding to 100 grit. Screen or sand the floor to remove all the sander scratches. Note: never skip more than one grit of sandpaper. For floors to be stained use 100 or 120 grit sanding disc or 100 grit screen and for a natural floor use a 120 or 150 sanding disc or screen. Vacuum the floor thoroughly and tack the floor until all the dust has been removed.

Stains and Exotics When finishing a floor that has been stained, make sure that the stain is completely dry before coating with a sealer or finish. Always prepare a test area to determine the compatibility with stains, exotics, or unknown woodspecies.

The EASY Fill system:

Trowel or spot fill with Easy Fill

1 Coat of EASY START

2 Coats of EASY FINISH or SUPRA

The Sealer EASY START After the filler has been applied and after the final sander cut has been made, you can apply the sealer. The purpose of the seal coat is to prevent side-bonding, penalization, lap marks, bleeding, or tannin marks. Do not apply 2 coats of  Easy Start, 1 coat is all that is required. Do not sand the seal coat; sanding may jeopardize the integrity of the seal causing bleeding or lap marks. After the seal is dry but within 24 hours, apply the first coat of finish without sanding. If more than 24 hours have elapsed, screen thoroughly with a 180 grit screen and apply another coat of sealer.

Easy Start is now ready for your finish.

Application of filler

Easy Fill should be mixed with a minimum of 100 grit edger dust for full trowel filler and 60 or 80 grit for heavier cracks and knotholes. Mix sawdust with the Easy Fill to the consistency that best suits the job. For a full trowel fill, mix 100 grit edger dust, a little bit at a time mixing thoroughly, continue to add sawdust until desired consistency is achieved. If too much sawdust is added, add more Easy Fill to thin out the filler. For wood putty filler, mix 60 or 80 grit edger dust, a little at a time mixing thoroughly until desired consistency is achieved. Apply the filler using only a stainless steel trowel before your final sanding cut. Make your final cut after approximately 30 to 60 minutes after filler is applied. For larger joints or cracks you may need to fill the areas twice after drying. The filler does not have to be completely dry for you to sand it. The good adhesion characteristics allow the filler to stay in the floor while sanding. Vacuum the floor thoroughly and tack the floor until all the dust has been removed. You are now ready for the seal coat.
