sanding to 100 grit. Screen or sand the floor to remove all the sander
scratches. Note: never skip more than one grit of sandpaper. For floors to be
stained, use 100 or 120 grit sanding disc or 100 grit screen and for a
natural floor use a 120 or 150 sanding disc or screen. Vacuum the floor
thoroughly and tack the floor until all the dust
has been removed.
Stains and Exotics The EASY GEL system : 2 Coats of EASY GEL 2 Coats of EASY FINISH or SUPRA The Sealer EASY GEL The purpose of the seal coat is to prevent side-bonding, penalization, lap marks, bleeding, or tannin marks. Do not sand the seal coat, sanding may jeopardize the integrity of the seal causing bleeding or lap marks. After the seal is dry, about 30 minutes, you are ready to apply the second coat of Easy Gel. After the seal is dry, but within 24 hours apply the first coat of finish without sanding. If more than 24 hours have elapsed, screen thoroughly with a 180 grit screen and apply another coat of sealer. After two coats of sealer, Easy Gel is ready for your finish . Application of sealer Allow the product to acclimate to work-site temperature. Cover the windows to prevent sunlight from coming in. Seal off work area to protect from outside contaminates. Use product directly from container. Do not thin. Do not use trowel on exotic or problematic woods that contain a lot of dyes. At a starting point, put a generous amount of product on the floor. With a stainless steel trowel apply Easy Gel in a criss-cross or figure 8 pattern, starting in the direction of the wood grain. Carefully remove excess material, drops or streaks will lead to dry marks that are visible after finishing. When you see excessive wood grain in the product, wipe off the trowel to remove the majority of contaminates. Keep supplying Easy Gel until the area you are working on is complete. Do not sand Easy Gel, allow 30 minutes to dry after each coat. You can test the floor with a moisture meter. Apply second coat of Easy Gel in the same manner. After the second coat of seal is dry, you are ready to apply your finish. In this system two coats of finish are required. A third coat of finish for high traffic commercial is optional. You can trowel the first coat of finish if desired. Troweling the first coat of finish will cut down on the dry time. You can apply the second coat of finish with a T-bar lambs wool / synthetic, roller, or a brush. Clean all tools with water immediately after use of any Loba finishes or sealer.
